tamsyamI don't know personally that many big celebrities and I don't have any really special or unique perspective to add to a public perception about those that I do know. Although there is an exception worthy of an entry here: a first-hand observation for all the fans and worshipers of "The great provocateur of modern times" Christopher Hitchens.
We spend occasional lazy week-end brunch at his favorite "Bistro du coin" or have a 5 o'clock drink or two (not really that few) at his place with his wife, who is "a keeper of the flame" among us, by the way. I'm terrible with keeping up with friends like "when did I see Carol and Hitch last time? Hmmm... That long ago, really?? I need to call urgently!"... So cuddos to Carol for doing this for all of us!
So, finally, this is my promised scoop for all of you, countless crazy Hitchens readers and followers: he is a very gentle man in a normal everyday life and yes (!) - he can be shy and modest and subdued time to time. Could you imagine that?
Don't cut your right arm just to have a glance at this unimaginable side of your idol, - alas.. that's only mine to have!
P.S. OK, the drinking "thing" is there too, I confess, but I'm not sure if anybody ever caught him in a different state (including his own family), so I don't have the slightest idea of The Man without the proper dose of substance in his bloodstream (neither do anyone else, regardless what they might tell you).
